Where this comes from
Restaurants have to file with the state before they can open. Every week I pull two public Texas datasets — TABC pending license applications and the Comptroller's active sales tax permits — and check each filing against Google to confirm it is a real restaurant at a real address. Anything that turns out to be an existing business re-permitting is thrown out.
These pages show the name, the city and roughly when it appeared. Contact info and restaurant details go out to subscribers every Monday.
